Dwarf Aphelia - native (Aphelia pumilio)
Dwarf Aphelia is a tiny grass-like plant, that grows on wet soil e.g. on shallow depressions.
Family: Centrolepidaceae (Centrolepis family).
Identification:
- it grows to only a few centimetres high
- the flower clusters are not turned to one side (comapared with the similar Slender Aphelia in which the flower clusters are turned to one side).
It has a general appearance of a tiny sedge. It is seldom seen in drought years.
