Pine Heath - native (Astroloma pinifolium)
Family: Ericaceae (Erica family).
Rare. Known locally from a small area of Fryers Ridge forest at Elphinstone.
Identification:
- it is a low narrow-leaved shrub
- the narrow leaves resemble pine needles, and hence "Pine Heath".
- the flowers are yellow and tubular, tapering inwards at the tip.
Pine Heath also grows on Mt Ida and in the Grampians.
