Fishbone Water-fern - native (Blechnum nudum)

Family: Blechnaceae.

Occurrence. Rare. Fishbone Water-fern has been recorded at Barkers Creek and on Fryers Ridge.

All of the leaflets of the barren fronds are broadly attached to the leaf stalk. The lower leaflets are much shorter than those in the middle of the frond.

The leaf stalk is shiny black, with straight leaflets at right angles to the stalk.

The fertile fronds have narrower, shorter leaflets.

nudum = bare.
