Common Rasp-fern - native (Blechnum parrisiae)

Family: Blechnaceae

Occurrence. Rare. The only known local specimen was found by Ian Higgins in a mine shaft at Vaughan in 1982.

Recognise by

• the fertile and barren fronds are similar in shape
• the lower leaflets are stalked and the upper leaflets are broad-based
• the stalk is rough, dark coloured and has dark coloured scales
• the spore cases are in two to four rows.
