Bulbine Lily - native (Bulbine bulbosa)
Family: Asphelaceae. It was formerly classified in the lily family (Liliaceae).
Native.
It is common and widespread.
Identification:
- it appears to have six yellow petals (made up of 3 sepals and 3 petals)
- flowers are on short stalks, in a terminal cluster
- the flowers open progressively towards the tip
- the leaves are onion-like, grey-green and grow from the base
- it flowers in late spring.
