Bulbine Lily - native (Bulbine bulbosa)

Family: Asphelaceae. It was formerly classified in the lily family (Liliaceae).

Native.

It is common and widespread.

Identification:

• it appears to have six yellow petals (made up of 3 sepals and 3 petals)
• flowers are on short stalks, in a terminal cluster
• the flowers open progressively towards the tip
• the leaves are onion-like, grey-green and grow from the base
• it flowers in late spring.
