Family: Myrtaceae (Myrtle family).
Native of Australia.
Occurrence: Widespread and moderately common.
Identification:
- it is a shrub
- the flowers are white
- sepals have long awns and redden when the petals fall (and hence the name "fringe-myrtle").
Calytrix: weaning calyx hairs, referring to the awns on the sepals.
