Trailing Hop-bush - native (Dodonaea procumbens)

Family: Sapindaceae.

Native.

Occurrence: Uncommon. Records are close to the Pyrenees Highway at Muckleford and Joyces Creek.

Identification:

• it is a prostate plant
• the fruit are oblong in outline with narrow (less than 0.5mm) wings
• the leaves are often toothed and are to about 3cm long.

VROTS: vulnerable in Victoria and Australia.

Name. Dodonaea: after Rembert Dodoens, 1517-1599, a Belgian botanist.
