Family: Sapindaceae.

Native.

Occurrence: Scattered. Mostly on rocky outcrops e.g. "Mt Tarrengower and Mt Alexander.

Hop bushes may have separate male and female flowers s well as bisexual flowers. The fruit have inconspicuous or conspicuous wings (as in Sticky Hop-bush). The winged fruit have resemblence to hops, hence the common name "hop-bush".

Identification:

Name. Dodonaea: after Rembert Dodoens, 1517-1599, a Belgian botanist.
