Pigweed - native (Dysphania glomulifera subsp glomulifera)
Family: Chenopodiaceae (Saltbush family).
Native.All States.
Occurrence: A plant of drying mud of lakes and reservoirs.
Identification:
- it is a prostate plant to about 20cm across
- the flowers are tiny (about 0.3mm wide) and crowded
- the leaves are small and rather fleshy.
Dysphania: obscure, referring to the tiny crowded flowers.
