Native of Australia.

Occurrence: A grassland plant of the northern plains.

Identification:

Ruby Saltbush makes an attractive garden plant, and can be used as a ground cover.

The fleshy, almost circular-section leaves, the semi-prostrate habit, and the red fruit are distinctive feature, and separates it from other saltbushes.

Name. Enchylaena meaning fleshy or succulent cloak; tomentosa: densely covered with short matted hairs.
