Californian Poppy - introduced (*Eschscholzia californica)
Family: Papaveraceae (Poppy family).
Native of California.
Occurrence: An uncommon weed.
Identification:
- the leaves are finely divided into narrow leaflets
- the five petals are bright yellow or orange
- the plant may be erect or scrambling
- the fruit is a narrow, cylindrical capsule.
Notes: A garden escape. It is usually found along roadsides.
