Occurrence: scattered bushland weed.
Identification:
- it has large, ball-shaped pincushion flowers
- it grows to a small tree
- the leaves are strap-shaped with prominent almost parallel veins
- the seed cases are hard and woody.
Pincushion Hakea makes a showy and hardy garden plant. It flowers in winter.
