Occurrence: Generally uncommon.
Identifcation:
The usually broad leaves tufted at the base make this a distinctive rush. Other members of the rush family, the wood rushes (Luzula species) also have flat leaves, but differ in that the leaves are hairy. Field Rushes are common in the heathy dry forests.
