Juncus semisolidus - native

Family: Juncaceae (Rush family).

Occurrence: Uncommon.

Identification:

• it is a tall rush with broad (4mm or more) culms
• the pith is continuous for most of the stem, except for air spaces in the upper part of the stem
• the stems are dull green
• the culms have 60-120 striations.

The air spaces in the upper part of the stems distinguish this rush from Pale Rush, which has continuous pith.
