Clustered rush - a native (Juncus vaginatus)
Family: Juncaceae (Rush family).
Occurrence: Uncommon.
Identification:
- it has continuous, cobwebby pith
- there are minute reddish flecks on the inside of the seed cases
- the petals and sepals are between 2 and 3mm long, and about equal in length to the seed cases
- the sepals and petals often have a faint red band on either side of the midrib.
