Urn Heath - native (Melichrus urceolatus)

Family: Ericaceae (Erica family).

Native.

Occurrence: Fairly common and widespread in heathy dry forests.

Recognise:

• it is a low spreading shrub
• the leaves taper to a sharp point
• the leaves have conspicuous veins parallel to the main vein
• it has white stalkless flowers, grow from the leaf bases.

The urn-shaped flowers give this plants common name.
