Bog Club-rush - a native (Schoenus apogon)

Family: Cyperaceae (Sedge family).

Native of south-eastern Australia, NZ and Japan.

Occurrence: Common. Damp places, including forest depressions.

Identification:

• it is a small, leafy plant (locally often about 10cm)
• the leaves grow from the stalks
• the flowers are dark and between the leaves.
