Pine Heath - native (Stenanthera pinifolia)

Family: Ericaceae (Erica family).

Rare. Known locally from a small area of Fryers Ridge forest at Elphinstone.

Identification:

• it is a low narrow-leaved shrub
• the narrow leaves resemble pine needles, and hence "Pine Heath".
• the flowers are yellow and tubular, tapering inwards at the tip.

Pine Heath also grows on Mt Ida and in the Grampians.
