Common Fringe-lily - native (Thysanotus tuberosus)

Family: Asparagaceae. Formerly included in the Lily family.

Other names: Tall Fringe-lily.

Occurrence: Rare in the dry heathy forests and Box Ironbark forests. It prefers higher rainfall areas e.g. east of Taradale township and Mt Alexander.

Recognise by

• it is an erect branched lily
• it has three showy fringed petals and three narrow unfringed sepals.

The flowers are much larger than those of Twining Fringe-lily.
