Lightwood - local native (Acacia implexa)

A small tree. Leaves are sickle shaped, have several parallel veins, and hang downwards. The pale flowers are in sprays in summer. The pods often form tangled clumps. Most common in granite areas.

The juvenile fern-like leaves may still be present on metre-high lightwoods.
