Woolly Wattle - local native (Acacia lanigera)

A shrub. The green leaves have several parallel veins. Flower colour ranges from cream to bright yellow. Flowers are in winter and the flower balls are on stalks from the leaf bases. The pods are woolly.

Common south of Castlemaine e.g. Fryers Ridge and Porcupine Ridge. It is very rare near Castlemaine but is found in the Mandurang forests.
