Other names: formerly Acacia retinodes var retinodes. The other variety, which has sometimes been planted in landcare projects, is a coastal plant, flowers mainly in autumn, and has green foliage.

A large shrub or small tree. Flowers in early summer. The flower balls are in sprays. The leaves are long and narrow, and bluish in colour. Scattered occurrence.

It is widely planted in landcare projects. It is quick growing with a limited life span.
