Family: Asteraceae (Daisy family).
Native of Europe.
Occurrence: A lawn, nature strip and grassland weed.
Identification:
Notes: English Daisy is sometimes planted in lawns. It prefers damper climates to that of most of Central Victoria.
bellis: Either from bellus (Latin) meaning pretty or charming, or from the dryad named Belidus; "daisy": a corruption of old English name " day's eye".
