Flying Duck Orchid - native (Caleana major)

Family: Orchidaceae (Orchid family).

Native of Eastern Australia.

• the flying duck resemblance makes this an easily recognised species.

Rare in this district e.g. Glenluce, Porcupine Ridge.

Caleana: after George Caley, 1770-1829, who visited Australia to collect plant specimens.
