Cottony Haekeria - a native (Cassinia ozothamnoides)

Other names: Formerly Haekeria ozothamnoides.

Native.

Occurrence: Rare, possibly now extinct locally. The only record is for a single plant growing in the Mt Alexander koala park, north-west of the picnic ground.

Identification:

• it is a shrub about 1-2m high
• the stems are winged
• the leaves are narrow and curled backwards
• the small flowers are straw coloured.
