Waterwort - native (Elatine gratioloides)
Family: Elatinaceae
Native of Australia and NZ.
A wetland plant. It may grow on the exposed banks (when it is prostrate) or grow submerged (when it has ascending branches).
Identification:
- it is wetland plant forming mats about 15cm across
- the leaves fleshy and more or less oval in shape
- the flowers are small and green or pink.
