Maroonhood - native (Pterostylis pedunculata)

Family: Orchidaceae (Orchid family).

Native to SE Australia.

Recognise;

• it has a single more or less erect flower
• the lateral sepals exceed the rest of the flower and are held erect
• the upper part of the flower is tinged red.

It is a uncommon.

It differs from Red-tip Greenhoods in that Maroonhoods have a single flower, and the sepals far exceed the body of the flowers.
