The spiny fruit are winged. The difference between the two species is
*Soliva sessilis. Wings smooth, not ridged.
*Soliva stolonifera. Wings ridged.
The first record of Soliva stolonifera in Victoria was in 1979, from a plant collected in the Barmah forest. The local record is from the hill opposite the Glenluce Springs picnic ground.
