Sticky Everlasting - native (Xerochrysum viscosum)

Family: Asteraceae (Daisy Family).

Common.

Sticky Everlasting is a notable example of a daisy in which the bracts at the base of the flower are coloured and resemble petals. The bracts do not die off rapidly after flowering, and hence the term "everlasting".

Recognise:

• it has an erect flower stalk
• the narrow leaves are sticky
• the terminal flowers have bright yellow straw-like bracts at the base of the flowers.
