Eragrostis contains native and non-native grasses. The spikelets are generally small, and with two rows of spikelets neatly arranged on either side of the spikelet. The glumes and lemmas are generally a dark lead-grey-green colour. In local eragrostis species, the spikelets are in open sprays.
